In the debut game against the Romanians hosts ,our team was forced to yield (26-22) but only at the end. The second match saw us facing Zvinice and it was the same story: we had control of the match for a good 55 minutes and eventually ended up with a 26-26 score, postponing qualification until the last match against the British. The situation now became critical because to pass the qualifier we needed to win by 18 goals, but finally we beat the Londoners with a score of 44-15 and qualified to the second round, where the ballot box pitted us against the Serbs of Metaloplastika Sabac, the “Real Madrid” of 80s European handball : a dream come true to play against a club of that pedigree. The first match was played in Syracuse and without the injured players Gonzalo and Martin Viscovich, Dario Dumancic and Kamil Heinz, we suffered a resounding 33-18 defeat which put paid to any further ambitions. The second match became a formality for the Serb formation , whereas for us, it was an opportunity to enhance our wealth of international experience. So after initially leading in the first half, the Serbs trod on the accelerator in the second and we were beaten by 33-22 which wasn’t a bad result, all considered. We returned to Italy naturally feeling a bit down but all in all not too disappointed, above all with the desire to do well in the league in order to win the right to play in the European Cup again.

Albatro, the new team colours are by Adidas
Teamnetwork Albatro Syracuse have changed their team colours. The Aretusea company has decided to change the previous blue and white colours in favour of black and white, entrusting the brand Adidas with the task of helping it to project a new, more elegant ,international image in line with the team’s actual position. The change of colour was in agreement with Teamnetwork, the main sponsor of the team present in all the sports equipment and accessories, which will continue to maintain a high profile brand identity as the various companies of the group already do.
